Welcome to Auriol Medical Centre
It is with mixed feelings and emotions that I have decided to retire after over 35 enjoyable years of being a General Practitioner and writing this update has brought home the finality of retirement; nevertheless the time has come to hang up my stethoscope. Being a GP has given me enormous job satisfaction and I have been privileged to be in involved in people's life, both in happiness and in sorrow.
I have taken pleasure from being able to look after generations of the same family. Having made many patient friends during my working lifetime I have fond and poignant memories of many, sadly, some of them no longer with us. I have worked with some marvellous colleagues both doctors and staff and I will miss all of you.
My retirements means the contract I holds with the NHS to run Auriol Medical Centre is ending and NHS England has made the decision to close the surgery from Friday 28th April 2017
I will only be able to provide appointments for patients with urgent needs from Monday 17th April, to help ensure the safe close down of the surgery. This means bookable routine appointments will not be available after Friday 14th April 2017.
With kind regards
Dr V K Palta
